William Chu is Cofounder and Managing Partner of SparkLabs Fintech. In 2018, he led the group into a partnership with Chinese insurer Ping An Group, and launched the Ping An Cloud Accelerator powered by SparkLabs, targeting fintech, health tech, and smart cities startups seeking growth in China.

William is also a Cofounder of SparkLabs Saudi Arabia, an early stage fund in partnership with the National Technology Development Program (NTDP) and tasked with developing the tech ecosystem in Saudi Arabia.

From 2014-2016, William was an Executive Director at Zheng He Capital, a Hong Kong based private equity firm with a focus on China Fintech and Healthcare. During his tenure, he spearheaded the firm’s lead investor role into Ping An Good Doctor and Lufax, which were subsequently listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (1833.HK) and NYSE (LU) respectively.

William was President of Lawman Group International from 2001-2014, a branded apparel group, where he launched new brands and product lines, and achieved significant growth in market share in both the US and China businesses during his tenure.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Chu held key positions in the financial services sector with Merrill Lynch and Wit Soundview. Mr. Chu began his professional career at Booz-Allen & Hamilton, a management consulting firm, where he specialized in financial and health services.

Mr. Chu received a B.A. in East Asian Studies from Harvard University.
